Automate the process of evacuation and charging of residential air conditioning systems on the assembly line.
Challenge
To automate their evacuation, charging, and reclaim process the customer decided to install new dispense heads. Unfortunately, the new dispense heads would not connect directly to the FasTest CoreMax® access valve in use on the air conditioners.
Project Goals
- Develop a leak-free interface between the new dispense heads and the existing CoreMax valves that allows evacuation, charging and refrigerant reclaim.
Solution
FasTest developed a custom interface, the MBE connector, that allowed easy integration of the new dispense head that allowed the head’s actuator pin to pass through the MBE connector and open the CoreMax® Valve at the appropriate time.
Results
After implementation and an evaluation period to collect data, the results demonstrated that the MBE worked as intended and was easy to incorporate into the Dispense Head. The customer appreciated the level of support and customer service demonstrated by FasTest throughout all stages of the evaluation, sales and implementation processes.
